Innovatory and Psalter
Officiant: Lord, open our lips.
People: And our mouth shall proclaim your praise.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
Officiant: The Lord has shown forth his glory: Come let us adore him.
Antiphon for Sundays – BCP p.81
Officiant: Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: Come let us adore him.

Psalm 100
Officiant and People together,
Be joyful in the Lord, all you lands; *
serve the Lord with gladness
and come before his presence with a song.
Know this: The Lord himself is God; *
he himself has made us, and we are his;
we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise; *
give thanks to him and call upon his Name.
For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; *
and his faithfulness endures from age to age.
The Psalm Appointed 99
1 The Lord is King; let the people tremble; *
he is enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth shake.
2 The Lord is great in Zion; *
he is high above all peoples.
3 Let them confess his Name, which is great and awesome; *
he is the Holy One.
4 "O mighty King, lover of justice, you have established equity; *
you have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob."
5 Proclaim the greatness of the Lord our God and fall down before his footstool; *
he is the Holy One.
6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among those who call upon his Name, *
they called upon the Lord, and he answered them.
7 He spoke to them out of the pillar of cloud; *
they kept his testimonies and the decree that he gave them.
8 O Lord our God, you answered them indeed; *
you were a God who forgave them, yet punished them for their evil deeds.
9 Proclaim the greatness of the Lord our God and worship him upon his holy hill; *
for the Lord our God is the Holy One.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: *
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
A reading from the Book of Exodus, chapter 34 verses 29-35
Moses came down from Mount Sinai. As he came down from the mountain with the two tablets of the covenant in his hand,
Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. When Aaron and all the Israelites
saw Moses, the skin of his face was shining, and they were afraid to come near him. But Moses called to them; and Aaron and
all the leaders of the congregation returned to him, and Moses spoke with them. Afterward all the Israelites came near, and
he gave them in commandment all that the Lord had spoken with him on Mount Sinai. When Moses had finished speaking
with them, he put a veil on his face; but whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him, he would take the veil off,
until he came out; and when he came out, and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, the Israelites would see the
face of Moses, that the skin of his face was shining; and Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

Surge, illuminare
Isaiah 60:1-3, 11a, 14c, 18-19
Officiant and People together,
Arise, shine, for your light has come, *
and the glory of the Lord has dawned upon you.
For behold, darkness covers the land; *
deep gloom enshrouds the peoples.
But over you the Lord will rise, *
and his glory will appear upon you.
Nations will stream to your light, *
and kings to the brightness of your dawning.
Your gates will always be open; *
by day or night they will never be shut.
They will call you, The City of the Lord, *
The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
Violence will no more be heard in your land, *
ruin or destruction within your borders. You will call your walls, Salvation, *
and all your portals, Praise.
The sun will no more be your light by day; *
by night you will not need the brightness of the moon.
The Lord will be your everlasting light, *
and your God will be your glory.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: *
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
A reading from the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians, chapters 3 verse12 to 4 verse 2
Since, then, we have such a hope, we act with great boldness, not like Moses, who put a veil over his face to keep the
people of Israel from gazing at the end of the glory that was being set aside. But their minds were hardened. Indeed,
to this very day, when they hear the reading of the old covenant, that same veil is still there, since only in Christ is it
set aside. Indeed, to this very day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their minds; but when one turns to the Lord,
the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And all of us, with
unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image
from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit. Therefore, since it is by God's mercy that
we are engaged in this ministry, we do not lose heart. We have renounced the shameful things that one hides; we refuse
to practice cunning or to falsify God's word; but by the open statement of the truth we commend ourselves to the
conscience of everyone in the sight of God.
The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
Gospel: Hymnal #129/130 Christ Upon the Mountain Peak
1 Christ upon the mountain peak stands alone in glory blazing;
let us, if we dare to speak, with the saints and angels praise him.
Alleluia!
2 Trembling at his feet we saw Moses and Elijah speaking.
All the prophets and the Law shout through them their joyful greeting.
Alleluia!
3 Swift the cloud of glory came. God proclaiming in its thunder
Jesus as his Son by name! Nations cry aloud in wonder!
Alleluia!
4 This is God's beloved Son! Law and prophets before him;
first and last and only One, let creation now adore him!
Alleluia!
A reading from the Gospel of St. Luke, chapter 9 verses 28-36
Jesus took with him Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray. And while he was praying,
the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became dazzling white. Suddenly they saw two men, Moses
and Elijah, talking to him. They appeared in glory and were speaking of his departure, which he was about to
accomplish at Jerusalem. Now Peter and his companions were weighed down with sleep; but since they had stayed
awake, they saw his glory and the two men who stood with him. Just as they were leaving him, Peter said to Jesus,
"Master, it is good for us to be here; let us make three dwellings, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah"
--not knowing what he said. While he was saying this, a cloud came and overshadowed them; and they were terrified
as they entered the cloud. Then from the cloud came a voice that said, "This is my Son, my Chosen; listen to him!"
When the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent and in those days told no one any of the
things they had seen.
The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth;
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
The Lord's Prayer - BCP p. 97
Officiant: The Lord be with you.
People: And also with you.
Officiant: Let us pray:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth
as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive
those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Officiant then says one or more of the following Collects
The Collect of the Day:
O God, who before the passion of your only begotten Son revealed his glory upon the holy mountain: Grant to us that we, beholding by faith the light of his countenance, may be strengthened to bear our cross, and be changed into his likeness from glory to glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
A Collect for Sundays:
O God, you make us glad with the weekly remembrance of the glorious resurrection of your Son our Lord: Give us this day such blessing through our worship of you, that the week to come may be spent in your favor; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
A Collect for the Renewal of Life:
O God, the King eternal, whose light divides the day from the night and turns the shadow of death into the morning: Drive far from us all wrong desires, incline our hearts to keep your law, and guide our feet into the way of peace; that, having done your will with cheerfulness during the day, we may, when night comes, rejoice to give you thanks; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Offertory: Hymnal #135 Songs of Thankfulness and Praise
1 Songs of thankfulness and praise,
Jesus, Lord, to thee we raise,
manifested by the star
to the sages from afar;
branch of royal David's stem
in thy birth at Bethlehem;
anthems be to thee addressed,
God in man made manifest.
2 Manifest at Jordan's stream,
Prophet, Priest, and King supreme;
and at Cana, wedding-guest,
in thy Godhead manifest; manifest
in power divine,
changing water into wine;
anthems be to thee addressed,
God in man made manifest.
3 Manifest in making whole
palsied limbs and fainting soul;
manifest in valiant fight,
quelling all the devil's might;
manifest in gracious will,
ever bringing good from ill;
anthems be to thee addressed,
God in man made manifest.
4 Manifest in mountain height,
shining in resplendent light,
where disciples filled with awe
thy transfigured glory saw.
When from there thou leddest them
steadfast to Jerusalem,
cross and Easter Day attest
God in man made manifest.

Recessional: Hymnal #460 Alleluia! Sing to Jesus!
1 Alleluia! sing to Jesus! his the scepter, his the throne;

Alleluia! here the sinful flee to thee from day to day:
Intercessor, friend of sinners, earth's Redeemer, plead for me,

4 Alleluia! King eternal, thee the Lord of lords we own:
Alleluia! born of Mary, earth thy footstool, heaven thy throne:

thou on earth both Priest and Victim in the eucharistic feast.

2 Manifest at Jordan's stream,
Prophet, Priest, and King supreme;
and at Cana, wedding-guest,
in thy Godhead manifest; manifest
in power divine,
changing water into wine;
anthems be to thee addressed,
God in man made manifest.
3 Manifest in making whole
palsied limbs and fainting soul;
manifest in valiant fight,
quelling all the devil's might;
manifest in gracious will,
ever bringing good from ill;
anthems be to thee addressed,
God in man made manifest.
4 Manifest in mountain height,
shining in resplendent light,
where disciples filled with awe
thy transfigured glory saw.
When from there thou leddest them
steadfast to Jerusalem,
cross and Easter Day attest
God in man made manifest.

Officiant and People together,
Almighty God, Father of all mercies, we your unworthy servants
give you humble thanks for all your goodness and loving-kindness
to us and to all whom you have made.
We bless you for our creation, preservation,
and all the blessings of this life;
but above all for your immeasurable love
in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ;
for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory.
And, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies,
that with truly thankful hearts we may show forth your praise,
not only with our lips, but in our lives,
by giving up our selves to your service,
and by walking before you in holiness and righteousness all our days;
through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom,
with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.
A Prayer of St. Chrysostom
Almighty God, you have given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplication to you;
and you have promised through your well-beloved Son that when two or three are gathered together in his
Name you will be in the midst of them: Fulfill now, O Lord, our desires and petitions as may be best for us;
granting us in this world knowledge of your truth, and in the age to come life everlasting. Amen.

Prayer For those we Love (for Anniversary, #54 BCP page 831)
Almighty God, we entrust all who are dear to us to thy never-failing care and love,

than we can desire or pray for; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thanks be to God
Officiant: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all evermore.

2 Corinthians 13:14
Recessional: Hymnal #460 Alleluia! Sing to Jesus!
1 Alleluia! sing to Jesus! his the scepter, his the throne;
Alleluia! his the triumph, his the victory alone;
Hark! the songs of peaceful Zion thunder like a mighty flood;
Jesus out of every nation hath redeemed us by his blood.
2 Alleluia! not as orphans are we left in sorrow now;
Alleluia! he is near us, faith believes, nor questions how:
though the cloud from sight received him, when the forty days were o'er,
shall our hearts forget his promise, "I am with you evermore"?
3 Alleluia! Bread of Heaven, thou on earth our food, our stay!
Alleluia! here the sinful flee to thee from day to day:
Intercessor, friend of sinners, earth's Redeemer, plead for me,
where the songs of all the sinless sweep across the crystal sea.
4 Alleluia! King eternal, thee the Lord of lords we own:
Alleluia! born of Mary, earth thy footstool, heaven thy throne:
thou within the veil hast entered, robed in flesh, our great High Priest:
thou on earth both Priest and Victim in the eucharistic feast.
5 Alleluia! sing to Jesus! his the scepter his the throne;
Alleluia! his the triumph, his the victory alone;
Hark! the songs of holy Zion thunder like a mighty flood;
Jesus out of every nation hath redeemed us by his blood.
