A word about children and youth at Epiphany:
Our children and youth are considered to be a valuable part of the church community and an important group in which to invest time, energy, and commitment to growth in the Christian life. At Epiphany, children are involved in the life of the parish from a very early age. They participate in worship through music, reading lessons, presenting the children’s offering, serving at the altar as an acolyte, ushering, preaching on youth Sunday, and more. All baptized Christians are invited to receive communion in the Episcopal church. We welcome children at the communion rail from birth for a blessing then to receive the sacraments when their parents feel they are ready.
At Epiphany, children are seen – and heard.

Junior Worship – aka Bird Church (10:30 am)
During our 10:30AM service, young children age three up to grade 3 are invited to meet in our Commons Room for their own worship, to hear explanations of the lessons of the day given at their level, sing hymns, and pray, before joining their parents for Holy Eucharist in the sanctuary.
Sunday School (9:15 – 10:15 am)
Pre-K through grade 6 classes meet on the lower level of the parish hall. Children grow in their relationships with God, with one another, and with their adult leaders through Sunday school. New the fall of 2016, Sunday school will be using a workshop rotation model, examining a Bible story or theme in-depth over a 4 week rotation of workshops. To register children or become a part of this exciting new program, visit Epiphanyscoop.com for the latest information on activities for children, youth, families, and friends of Epiphany.
Vacation Bible School
The last full week of June each year is set aside for our joint VBS with Trinity Lutheran Church of Clarks Summit. We’ve lost count as to how long we’re been doing this ministry together! It is always a great week of faith, fellowship, friends, fun, and food for the students as well as the volunteers, youth and adult.
Monday through Friday we meet from 9 AM – 12:30 PM. Included each day is lunch for the attendees and their younger siblings. This way families can head right on to their afternoon activities without having to stop for lunch. On Friday, families and friends are invited to a closing program and picnic.
Our property lends itself well to vacation Bible school activities – both indoors and out. There is plenty of room for recreation and dining outside as well as a large air conditioned hall for opening and closing worship and classrooms for smaller group activities. Plus there is plenty of parking.
Our VBS attracts students ages 4 through 5th grade from many area churches. Once they have completed 6th grade, youth can sign on to volunteer.
Registration is required of all participants and can be done online at www.epiphanyscoop.com
For more information, please contact Barbara Little at Epiphany (570-840-6164) or Carole Hamersly at Trinity (570-587-1088).
The next VBS dates are: June 19 – June 23, 2017.
